Petersburg High School wrestlers took 10th place at the Bill Weiss Invitational tournament in Ketchikan last weekend. The host Kayhi Kings took top spot at the tournament, followed by the Craig Panthers and the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves.

Six wrestlers competed for PHS. Israel Collison was fourth at 106 pounds. Ethan File took fifth at 145 pounds. Nathaniel Lenhard was fourth at 152 and Kirk Evens placed sixth at 182. Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Petersburg Dan Van Swearingen about his team’s effort.

Buddy Stelmach, Nathaniel Lenhard and Kirk Evens head to the Anchorage Christian School tournament this weekend. Bringing in teams from around the state, ACS is an early preview of the small school state tournament wrestling brackets.
