Three Petersburg High School students joined their colleagues from around the state at the All-State Music Festival November 19-21 at West High and Chugiak High schools in Anchorage. The annual festival brings in guest conductors and choir directors to work for three days towards a gala concert.

A little over one quarter of the students statewide who auditioned for the festival this year were chosen to perform. PHS had three students selected in two different choirs. Three others were named as alternates for one of the choirs and the band. Joe Viechnicki spoke with senior Hannah Pfundt, sophomore Julia Murph and teacher Matt Lenhard about the experience.

Local residents can hear the high school choir and band in a holiday concert December 15th in the Wright Auditorium.
