The design plan for the bulkhead loading dock was presented to the Petersburg Harbor Board at their last meeting. PND Engineers out of Juneau went through the details.

The bulkhead loading dock would be another option for large boats to load and unload heavy equipment aside from the crane dock. It would be built onto the parking area of the drive down dock.

The project would be funded mostly from leftover money from the drive down dock project. The borough still has $1.26 million of the $9 million dollar state grant.

Petersburg’s Harbor Master, Glorianne Wollen, told KFSK’s Angela Denning that the 95 percent design plan has cleared up a lot of unanswered questions including just where it will be located.

The next borough assembly meeting is Monday, Dec. 7 at noon.
