The Petersburg School District board will be meeting in the high school library for the foreseeable future as the municipal building is renovated.

The Petersburg School Board tonight is scheduled to take action on several contracts for the next school year. The board is having a regularly scheduled meeting at 7 p.m.

At the meeting, the board will be asked to approve contracts for the Middle and High School principal, Rick Dormer, and the Elementary School Principal, Teri Toland, also the Finance Director, Karen Quitslund, Maintenance Director, Dan Tate, Director of Food Service, Carlee Johnson, and Superintendent-Board Administrative Assistant Irene Littleton.

The board will also consider a few new district hires and one resignation.

A calendar of school activities happening in April and May will be shared with the board.

Then for next school year, High School Principal Rick Dormer is asking for approval for out of state travel. He would like to send a group of high school students to a program called Washington D.C. Close Up for a week. It’s a program Petersburg students have participated in before.

As usual, the board will hear administrative reports from the superintendent and the schools principals, the activities director, finance director, and maintenance director.

The school board will be meeting at the high school library which will be their meeting place for the foreseeable future since the municipal building will soon be under construction.
