The Rainforest Festival starts on Thursday and there will be several opportunities to learn more about the land around Petersburg through informational talks, activities and field trips out of town. There will be chances to explore different uses of mushrooms, learn about the Leconte Glacier, paper making with invasive plants, and more. Abbey Collins spoke with festival committee member Sunny Rice for details.
Several of these activities have already sold out. To find out if there is still space available contact the visitor’s center at 772-4636. We’ll have more on upcoming festival events and activities, including the wild foods dinner, throughout the week on KFSK News.
