Petersburg High School’s swim team competed in Sitka against other Southeast teams in the last meet heading into Regions.

The Vikings took several first, second, and third place finishes in individual events. Swim Coach Andy Carlisle told KFSK’s Angela Denning that it was a good meet all the way around.

Here’s a look at the results of some of the individual events:

Britton Erickson took second place in the Boys 100 Yard Breastroke on Friday. On Saturday, he took third place in the 50 Yard Freestyle and fourth in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
Rylan Wallace took second place in the 100 Yard Freestyle event and the 100 Yard Backstroke on Saturday.

Van Abbott walked away with three third place finishes. He took third place in the 100 Yard Backstroke on Friday. On Saturday, he finished third place in the 100 yard freestyle and the 100 Yard Breastroke.

Maddy Whitethorn took first place in the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle on Saturday and second place in the 50 yard Freestyle the same day.

Maria Pfundt took second place in the Girls 100 Yard Butterfly event on Saturday.

The boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay took first place on Friday and second place on Saturday. The swimmers were Britton Erickson, Ethan Kludt-Painter, Rylan Wallace, and Van Abbott.
The boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay took third place on Saturday. Swimmers were Britton Erickson, Casey Evens, Rylan Wallace and Van Abbott.

The Girls 200 yard freestyle Relay took third place on Friday. The Swimmers were Maddy Whitethorn, Meghyn Parker, Maria Pfundt, and Alyssa Guthrie.

The regional tournament is two weeks away in Juneau.
