It’s flu season and cases of influenza increased at the Petersburg Medical Center in November. The borough reports five confirmed cases among elderly residents at the assisted living facility and is asking people not to visit there if they have a fever or cough. Health officials are urging residents to get a flu shot and for those who already have the flu to take precautions not to infect others. Joe Viechnicki spoke with the PMC’s lab and imaging manager Liz Bacom along with public health nurse Erin Michael.

Flu shots are available at the clinic, or for people 29 and under at the public health nurse’s office.
