Over 150 young dancers will be performing at Petersburg’s Wright Auditorium this weekend in a Winter Dance recital called, “Merry and Bright”. KFSK’s Angela Denning reports:

It’s Thursday afternoon at MDT Studios and Dance Instructor, Kathleen Boggs, is leading 16 second graders in the Ballet 2 class.

This is just one of many dance classes going on at MDT Studios this winter. The Studio puts on the Nutcracker every other December. This is the odd year and Boggs tells me that the recital will not be the huge production that the Nutcracker always is.

After we talk about the dance recital (in above audio file) we touch on the new dance studio for MTD. There are no specific move-in dates so in the meantime practices will remain located inside the St. Andrews Episcopal Church building.

There are three performances for the winter recital, “Merry and Bright” at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and a matinee on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Lee’s Clothing downtown.
