Petersburg High School’s girls track team was dominant in a three-team meet in Ketchikan last weekend while the boys team was second. Ketchikan took first for the boys teams and Thorne Bay was third. For the girls Ketchikan was second, far behind a strong Petersburg team, and Thorne Bay was third. A relay team of Erin Pfundt, Maia Cowan, Kendra Coonrad and Shyla Cook set a new school record in the 4×800, taking first in that event by about 50 seconds. Many other Petersburg athletes also set “PRs” or personal records. Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Brad Taylor about the Ketchikan meet.

That’s track coach Brad Taylor. The regional meet is this weekend at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau.
