Petersburg High Schools track and field teams both took second among smaller schools in Southeast last weekend at the Region five meet at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau. The Sitka Wolves were first for both the boys and girls, while Thorne Bay came in third.

Petersburg had several first places. Aiden Luhr was fastest in the 100 dash. Maia Cowan took first in the 800, 1600 and led a 1-2-3 sweep for Petersburg in the 3200. The girls 4×800 relay team took top honors. Allie Davis was also first in the triple jump. Other athletes set personal records, or PRs, on their way to top finishes. Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Brad Taylor about the regional meet.
