Mitkof Middle School wrestlers took fourth place at the
region tournament in Ketchikan, behind teams from Juneau and Ketchikan. The
team traveled with 20 wrestlers. Nineteen ended up competing with one injured
before the tournament. Petersburg had eight in the finals and two champions and
finished with a team record of 35 wins against 25 losses. Joe Viechnicki spoke
with coach Jeff Davidson about the regional meet.
The regional meet wraps up the middle school wrestling season while the arena wrestling season continues for younger wrestlers this winter.
