Kids in Petersburg can continue their learning about a wide range of topics in science after school hours at the Petersburg Public Library.
The Viking Science Academy started up at the library last fall. The sessions are designed for kids in grades 5 through 8. They’re an hour long on Thursday afternoons.
Scott Burt moved to town last June and has bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in biology and says he’s been involved in academics for many years. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Burt about some of the topics he’s covering with kids this year.
That’s Scott Burt of the Viking Science academy. Sessions are Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the public library. Sign up in person on a first come, first served basis.
