An online presentation for Petersburg’s Science Series Thursday, April 16 will focus on some of the shrimp and crab species of Southeast Alaska in changing ocean conditions. Sherry Tamone is a professor of biology at the University of Alaska Southeast. For the past six years she’s been studying the growth and life history of spot shrimp in Alaska. Her latest work looks at ocean acidification and impacts of increasingly acidic water on early life history of spot shrimp. She’ll also be talking about impacts on Dungeness crab. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Tamone for preview.

That talk is from 7-8 p.m. Thursday April 16. There’s a link to the meeting audio by computer here.
