Petersburg High School baseball hosted its first games of the season with a three-game series against the Kayhi Kings of Ketchikan High School last week. Ketchikan swept the series with a 12-1 win Thursday, and 6-2 and 17-4 wins in a Friday double-header.

PHS head coach Jim Engell says the middle game of the three was one of Petersburg’s best in the last few years. Engell saw a lot of positives from the second series of the season and spoke with KFSK about last week’s games.

Petersburg is scheduled to play another road series this weekend against Juneau-Douglas before hosting more games the following week.
