The Petersburg Emergency Operations Center reported one new COVID-19 case in the community Wednesday evening.

The case is travel related. The person was tested at the airport upon arrival to Petersburg. According to the EOC, Public Health has been attempting to contact the person with no success. 

There are now two active cases in the community. The testing positivity rate in Petersburg for the past week is 2.2 percent. The borough remains at low risk level.

Emergency officials are asking people to be vigilant for symptoms and isolate as soon as possible to prevent community spread.
