The Clausen Memorial Museum in Petersburg has opened a new covered area this year.

The shelter, bench and gravel walkway cost around $5,000. It was funded by a community challenge grant from AARP, formerly known as the American Association of Retired Persons. That organization provides grants to communities for improvements to public spaces.

Joe Viechnicki spoke with museum director Cindi Lagoudakis about that new outdoor space and the plans for it.
