Crew makes progress on Hungry Point trail

Petersburg’s Hungry Point trail got a little bit longer this summer, as workers brought power tools out into the muskeg to construct new boardwalk that will eventually connect to the main path. KFSK’s Abbey Collins walked the new trail segment for an update on the project’s progress.

Searchers find young runner near Petersburg trail

Searchers Wednesday night were able to find a lost middle school student near the Ravens Roost Trail outside of Petersburg. Alaska State Troopers, Petersburg Police Department and volunteers with the fire department’s Search and Rescue team joined members of the community who were out looking for 12-year-old Noah Willis. He had gone for a run around 6 p.m. Wednesday and failed to return home.
