Petersburg welcomes exchange student from Germany

Since the early 1990s, Petersburg’s Rotary Club has participated in international exchange programs. Each year, a student from Petersburg spends time in another country, and the community welcomes an international student for the school year. This year, that student was Jakob Preisler from Germany.

Seal rescued near Petersburg in May released back into the wild

After several weeks of treatment at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, the seal returned home on Oct. 23. Over a hundred people gathered at Sandy Beach to see the nearly five-month-old Bravo get released back into the wild.
