Petersburg’s third ‘Flare-Off’ brings fun, safety education

There are many kinds of flares that mariners keep on board. But when those flares expire, they need to be disposed of properly. That’s why the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Petersburg’s volunteer fire department hosted a free event on June 20 to help people dispose of them safely. And as KFSK’s Hannah Weaver reports, participants young and old also got hands-on practice at this year’s “Flare-Off.”
