There are still about 50 children on the waiting list for the Petersburg’s Children’s Center. The daycare and preschool is adding on space to accommodate more kids but it’s not ready yet. On the outside, the addition matches the old part seamlessly. But on the inside the area is still very much a construction zone.

To get an update on how things are going, KFSK’s Angela Denning spoke with Brendi Heppe, the Executive Director of the Children’s Center. They toured the addition where some volunteers were busy installing vapor barriers and insulation.

Heppe says they are always looking for volunteers to help with the construction. You can just stop by the center which is located on 4th and Dolphin Street.
