A young artist from Wrangell opens the first solo show of her career at a gallery in Petersburg Friday, April 13. Jaynee Fritzinger will be showing about a dozen original paintings, along with some prints at Firelight Gallery and Framing. It’s work she’s done over the past year, using acrylics and water color paints. She also works with pen and ink drawings and reproduces her work on stickers and magnets.
Fritzinger moved to Wrangell from Washington state when she was 13. She’s been commercial fishing for the past five years and it’s the inspiration for her paintings and drawings. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Fritzinger about her show.
Fritzinger hopes to have a show in Wrangell soon as well. Her opening in Petersburg is Friday, April 13 from 5-7 p.m. at Firelight Gallery on main street.
