Petersburg High School’s varsity volleyball team finished in fifth at the Juneau Jive tournament last weekend. The Vikings took second at the tournament a year ago, losing in the championship to Thunder Mountain. This year’s tournament had had some surprise upsets and tough competition among 2A, 3A and 4A schools from Southeast. Joe Viechnicki spoke with coach Jaime Cabral about his team’s matches.
That seeding tournament is this weekend in Craig. That and a second tournament in Petersburg in early November will determine seeding for the regional tournament.
