Petersburg residents are raising money for a new deck for the borough’s assisted living facility at Mountain View Manor. It would be built on the front side of the newer assisted living building, where that attaches to the elderly housing wing. Supporters of the project hope to complete two phases. The first is expected to cost around 50,000 dollars, nearly half of which would be the cost of constructing a foundation for the deck. The second phase would add a slanted roof. For more information Joe Viechnicki spoke with Sally Dwyer, who’s helping with the fund raising effort and the manor’s administrator Shelyn Bell.

That’s Shelyn Bell and Sally Dwyer. Checks should be made out the Petersburg borough and can be dropped off at the finance office or mailed to Box 329. The timing of construction will depend on reaching the fund raising goal for the deck.
