Petersburg High School’s swim teams are getting ready for their only home meet of the season after fifth place team finishes at an invitational meet in Ketchikan last Friday and Saturday.

The Thunder Mountain girls and the Ketchikan boys teams were first both days. The Vikings finished behind Thunder Mountain, Sitka, Juneau Douglas and Ketchikan but beat Wrangell and Craig.

In individual results provided by the Ketchikan Daily News from Friday, Maria Pfundt took fourth in the 200 free and third in the 100 butterfly. Peter Kowalski was second in the 200 free and the 500 free that day. Rylan Wallace placed fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 fly while Sean Spigelmyre was fourth in the 100 free. A Petersburg boys team finished second in the 200 free relay; the girls were fourth in that event.

On Saturday, Kowalski took second in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 free. Wallace wasthird in the 200 free and fourth in the 100 free. Spigelmyre finished fourth in the 100 fly and fifth in the 100 back.

For the girls, Pfundt took third in the 50 free and first in the 100 fly. Maddy Whitethorn swam to fifth place finishes in the 50 free and 100 backstroke.

The boys 200 free and 400 relay teams took second. The girls were fourth in the 200 free relay and third in the 400.

The only home meet of the season is next up, October 18th and 19th.
