A regional organization that works to restore fish streams is hoping to hear from local residents and potential partners in Petersburg this week.

The Southeast Alaska Watershed Coalition formed in 2005 and works on fish habitat projects along with promoting local foods. The group has been involved in stream work and monitoring in Wrangell and Juneau and on Prince of Wales and Admiralty islands. Local resident Malena Marvin is on the board of directors. Joe Viechnicki spoke with Rob Cadmus, executive director of the coalition.

That’s one of two talks at the public library Thursday, December 5 and it runs from 6-7 p.m. A talk by biologists with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is 7-8 p.m.
