About a hundred residents and church goers marched through downtown Petersburg Sunday afternoon in a rally they called Sanctity of Life. The group was organized by Tim Wilkinson and Kurt Wohlheuter, both with the First Baptist Church. They say the event was a little last minute, coming together in just two weeks. They wanted to march on the same weekend as the national March for Life, which is an annual anti-abortion rally in Washington D.C. But the Petersburg organizers say the local event was not anti-abortion. It was about supporting all people who are suffering and vulnerable.

Wilkinson and Wohlheuter spoke with KFSK’s Angela Denning about their cause. Wohlheuter says the idea came from similar marches that have been going on in the Lower 48.
