The Petersburg School Board is meeting for a regular meeting Tuesday night when they will hear an audit presentation on the fiscal year ’21 budget. After the presentation, the board will consider accepting the audit as written.

They’ll also go over the sex education curriculum that’s in Alaska law. It requires that sex ed instructors and the curriculum for the course must be approved each year. Principals Rick Dormer and Heather Conn will present any updates to the curriculum or presenters, and will be available to answer any questions.

The school board plans to discuss the district’s COVID Dashboard and modes of learning. There were 28 cases among staff and students as of Monday afternoon. Superintendent Erica Kludt-Painter has said district staff is stressed out running hybrid classrooms for students in-person and online.

The board will be going over the annual meeting for the AASB or the Alaska Association of School Boards.

The school board will also hear administrative reports from the superintendent, the principals, and the activities director.
