Little Norway Festival-goers can enjoy a mixture of the modern and traditional in vocals and piano Thursday, May 19 at the Petersburg Lutheran Church.
Soprano Stephanie Pfundt and pianist Kimly Wang will be performing a recital called “Ethereal Synthesis” to benefit the Petersburg Arts Council. The two met at Boston University where Pfundt just finished up a master’s degree in vocal performance and Wang is working on a doctoral degree in collaborative piano.
Pfundt is from Petersburg and took piano lessons here and sang in choir at Petersburg High but started getting more serious about singing while studying at Pacific Lutheran University. Wang is originally from China, studied in Germany and immigrated with her family to Canada.
Joe Viechnicki spoke with the two about the program for Thursday night.
Stephanie Pfundt and Kimly Wang perform the recital “Ethereal Synthesis” Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church. Admission is free and a suggested donation of $10 goes to the Petersburg Arts Council.
