School board to hear audit presentation Tuesday night

The Petersburg School Board is meeting Tuesday night when they will hear an audit presentation on the fiscal year ’21 budget. They’ll also go over the sex education curriculum that’s in Alaska law and they will discuss the school’s COVID Dashboard and modes of learning.

Petersburg reports 67 active COVID cases as of Monday morning

UPDATE–Petersburg’s COVID case count continues to climb. The Petersburg Medical Center announced 67 cases as of Monday morning. 28 cases are among staff and students in the school district as of Monday afternoon.

UPDATED: Petersburg masking mandate goes into effect

The Petersburg Borough Assembly approved a masking mandate at a special meeting Friday afternoon. About 75 percent of local cases over the last two months are unvaccinated.

Petersburg outbreak stressing staff at school district and medical center

There are 50 active COVID cases in Petersburg now. Seven new cases were added Thursday night. There are 99 pending test results through the medical center so providers are expecting more cases.

48 COVID cases in Petersburg as of Wednesday; 17 at the schools

Petersburg’s active COVID-19 case count climbed to 48 on Wednesday with twelve new cases reported. That’s the second highest active case count since the community’s largest outbreak in February and March.
