Ketchikan High School is closed this week because of a cluster of COVID cases. At least five new cases of COVID-19 were identified in people who attended a wrestling tournament as well as prom and an after-party.

Petersburg residents can win prizes for walking in the month of May. It’s the annual Pedometer Challenge put on by the local tribe, Petersburg Indian Association. The Pedometer Challenge has prizes each week for different age groups.

Petersburg is the second most vaccinated borough in the state (as of April 26). That’s according to data kept and shared on the State’s COVID website. Right now, the percentage only includes people 16 and over because younger children have not yet been approved for the vaccine yet.

Music fans in Petersburg will be treated to more outdoor concerts this year in what’s called the Moving Music Concert Series. The series is a partnership between the Petersburg Arts Council and the Petersburg Borough’s Parks and Rec Department.
