Case numbers rise in Petersburg as COVID spreads

Petersburg Medical Center Wednesday reported eight additional COVID-19 cases in the past two days and highlighted that Petersburg schools and businesses are impacted by the new cases.

Group raises money for long-term upkeep of historic Southeast lighthouse

A non-profit that owns and maintains a remote lighthouse north of Petersburg is raising money for that historic property this fall. A group of board members and volunteers made their annual trip this month to button up the buildings for the winter.

Hospital board passes resolution on new facility, to invite SEARHC to talk

Petersburg Medical Center’s board approved a resolution Thursday supporting pursuit of a new facility in phases using outside funding sources. At the same meeting the board voted to invite officials with the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium to meet with them about health care in Petersburg.

COVID cases rising again in Petersburg

Petersburg Medical Center reported 28 active COVID-19 cases in the community as of Monday evening, September 27.

Petersburg borough assembly candidate forum 2021

KFSK and the Petersburg Pilot hosted an online forum for the candidates for borough assembly. Eight people are running for two seats in the October 5th, 2021 election. They are Paul A. Anderson, Lars Christensen, Thomas Fine-Walsh, Bob Lynn, Marc Martinsen, Brandi Thynes, Dana Thynes and Jim Vick. All but Vick took part in the forum Monday, September 27.
