Police release few details in New Year's day death

Petersburg police are releasing little information about the January 1 death of a 24-year-old Petersburg man at a Hungerford Hill residence. Police are not willing to say whether they believe Bradley Fletcher’s apparent death by gunshot wound was a suicide, accidental or a homicide and say their investigation of the case might take a month or more. Seymour male humpbacks sing solitary mating song

On their late-fall research trip to study humpback whale and krill interactions in Seymour Canal, researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration made some exceptionally clear recordings of individual whale songs. KFSK Public Radio played some of these recordings for wildlife biologist Chris Gabriele. She leads an underwater acoustic monitoring program at Glacier Bay National Park and she studies whale vocalizations. Matt Lichtenstein asked Gabriele about the Seymour whale songs
