Hunters reach new high for Central Southeast moose hunt

Hunters have reached a new high for the month-long moose hunt in Central Southeast: 141 bulls. The new record is nine more than the previous record harvest, which was set in 2021: 132 bulls.

There were only four moose taken illegally this year in the entire hunt, which is far less than recent years. Another unusual result from the hunt this fall was the large harvest on Kuiu Island.
