PHS cross country teams head to State this week

Petersburg High School girls cross country team took first place at the Southeast Regional Meet in Juneau and the boys team took third place. Both teams are heading to the state meet in Anchorage this Thursday.

Petersburg voters to decide on senior sales tax

Petersburg voters will soon be asked to decide whether or not to end a senior sales tax exemption and replace it with a needs-based rebate program. The ballot proposition has seniors speaking out on both sides of the issue. The question will appear on the Oct. 2 municipal election ballot.

Moose hunt off to slower start

As of Friday afternoon, 16 moose had been harvested. That’s less than what was harvested the first week of the hunt the last few years.

Southeast’s dry weather brings record highs and lows
