PHS sophomore named Outstanding Athlete at regional meet

Petersburg High School track and field team competed at the regional meet in Juneau last weekend. Sophomore Aiden Luhr took first place in both the 100 meter and 200 meter runs. He also took second place in the high jump and second place in the 4 by 100 meter relay. He also received an award for Outstanding Athlete for the Division II meet.

Petersburg High School’s ESports team wins State title

Petersburg High School’s ESports team won the state championships this month. It was the first season for the video gaming team and the first year that the sport was approved by the Association of Alaska School Boards.

Historic Petersburg boat, Charles T, turns 100 years old

It’s the birthday for one of the oldest boats in Petersburg. The Charles T is 100 years old this year and she’s being celebrated this weekend at the Little Norway Festival. The Charles T will be open to visitors Friday and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the North Harbor.

Comedian Tatanka Means to perform in Petersburg

Comedian and actor, Tatanka Means, is performing in Petersburg Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church. It is free and open to the public. He is also speaking at the middle school.
