Youth flag football league completes first season

Petersburg’s first youth flag football season wrapped up August 31 with two local teams competing for the league title at the ballfields Saturday.

Second generation candidate seeks Petersburg assembly seat

Another product of the local school system is hoping to win a seat on Petersburg’s borough assembly this October. 31-year-old Chelsea Tremblay is fitting in her first campaign for assembly along with fixing up a house and planning her wedding. Tremblay is drawing on the experience of other family members who have held local office.

A dozen run half marathon in the rain

Two dozen people took part in a raining half marathon and ten kilometer running race in Petersburg on Labor Day. That includes 12 individuals and one team of four who completed the 13.1-mile, out-and-back course on the road to Frederick Point.

Artist, musician, paleo nerd headlines Petersburg festival

Artist and musician Ray Troll of Ketchikan is the keynote speaker at this week’s Rainforest Festival in Petersburg. He’ll be speaking Thursday, September 5 about some of the incredible creatures from the fossil record of the west coast of the U.S. and Canada.
